PB Engineering’s ‘next-level commitment’ secured multiple Protyre Asphalt trophies
PB Engineering crews scooped a multitude of major awards in the 2025 Protyre Motorsport UK Asphalt Rally Championship, with overall champion Sam Touzel stating that the Cumbria-based squad demonstrated “next-level commitment” has it prepared and ran his title-winning Smart Scaffolding/Trade Centre UK Ford Fiesta Rally2.
The Jersey driver finished all seven events that he started and ended the season with three straight Protyre Asphalt victories to win the title for the first time.
Rally rookie Anthony Jevons picked up the Class F runners-up trophy after also recording a 100% finishing record – which included four podium results in his PB Engineering-prepared Fiesta R2. It was a tremendous performance by the Milford Haven driver in his first attempt at the Protyre Asphalt series.
PB Engineering co-drivers also won a swarm of Protyre Asphalt awards too – with Max Freeman winning the overall co-drivers’ title, Margaret Kelly taking home the Ladies’ Challenge Co-drivers’ title and third in Class F, and Tommi Henderson (who navigated for this father Roger in their DKMS We Delete Blood Cancer Fiesta Rally2) won the OnThePaceNoteUK Protyre Asphalt Junior Co-drivers’ title and was presented with the new Dai Roberts Memorial Trophy.
PB Engineering was founded in 2018 by Phil Bradshaw, his wife Alex and father Dick. In 2020 Phil left M-Sport after 24 years to concentrate on running PB Engineering, establishing the company as one of the very best privately-run rally preparation teams in the UK.
“I bought the R2 from Sweden for my first full year driving after making the switch from the navigator’s seat, and I could think of no one better to check over the car than Phil who originally developed these cars at M-Sport,” said Anthony Jevons.
“PB Engineering then prepared and ran the car all year and their professionalism and family atmosphere just works.
“To complete a full championship without a single issue with the car is a real reflection on Phil, Alex and all at PB Engineering. Everyone in the team is so committed and has their part to play and I can’t thank them enough.
“It’s been so much fun were going to do it all again this year!”
